Gen X Jumps Workout

Five simple Tabata circuits put the rope at the center. Work for 20 seconds, reset for 10, and keep building the effort without turning the workout into a trick show.

Before You Press Play

## Warm Up, Choose Your Jump, and Make Space

- Warm up your calves, ankles, shoulders, and basic bounce before Circuit 1.
- Use any jump rope, or go ropeless when impact or coordination calls for it.
- Clear enough space to swing the rope without clipping anything around you.
- Keep moving lightly during the one-minute recoveries instead of dropping straight to the floor.

The Complete Workout

## One Simple Pattern. Five Honest Circuits.

Each circuit contains eight rounds of 20 seconds jumping and 10 seconds resting. After the eighth round, recover actively for one minute before starting the next circuit.

Circuit 1

### Jump Rope Tabata

8 rounds

1. 20 sec Jump rope / freestyle Use regular bounce, boxer skip, running in place, or another clean jump you can sustain.
2. 10 sec Rest and reset Regain control, then be ready to move when the next interval starts.

Circuit 2

### Jump Rope Tabata

8 rounds

1. 20 sec Jump rope / freestyle Use regular bounce, boxer skip, running in place, or another clean jump you can sustain.
2. 10 sec Rest and reset Regain control, then be ready to move when the next interval starts.

Circuit 3

### Jump Rope Tabata

8 rounds

1. 20 sec Jump rope / freestyle Use regular bounce, boxer skip, running in place, or another clean jump you can sustain.
2. 10 sec Rest and reset Regain control, then be ready to move when the next interval starts.

Circuit 4

### Jump Rope Tabata

8 rounds

1. 20 sec Jump rope / freestyle Use regular bounce, boxer skip, running in place, or another clean jump you can sustain.
2. 10 sec Rest and reset Regain control, then be ready to move when the next interval starts.

Circuit 5

### Final Tabata

8 rounds

1. 20 sec Jump rope / freestyle Use regular bounce, boxer skip, running in place, or another clean jump you can sustain.
2. 10 sec Rest and reset Regain control, then be ready to move when the next interval starts.

Make It Work for You

## The Pattern Stays Fixed. You Control the Jump.

Todd starts with regular bounce, then mixes in boxer skip, running in place, and other simple freestyle choices. Pick the jump you can control and increase the effort only while your rhythm stays useful.

Options

### Any Rope and Simple Jumps Work

Todd uses a half-pound Crossrope in the video, but any rope works. Regular bounce, boxer skip, running in place, side swings, or ropeless jumping are all valid choices.

> Todd’s Coaching Note If you trip, reset and keep going. If you need more than 10 seconds, pause the video and take it. Do this at your own pace.

### Reduce Impact

Go ropeless, keep the bounce low, use an easy basic jump, or shorten the number of circuits.

### Keep It Honest

Use a pace you can repeat cleanly. The 20-second work interval should challenge you without turning every round into a scramble.

### Turn It Up

Build your pace across the workout, choose a weighted rope, or use a harder jump only while your mechanics remain controlled.

**The recovery stays active.** Walk, march, or use side swings during the one-minute breaks.

**Intensity builds gradually.** Circuit 1 starts controlled; the final circuit asks for your best sustainable effort.

**The rope choice changes the challenge.** Todd’s half-pound rope taxes the arms more, but it is not required.

Why This Workout Works

## A Clear Conditioning Test Without Complicated Choreography

### What You’re Training

- Cardiovascular conditioning from repeated 20-second jump intervals
- Rhythm and coordination while fatigue accumulates across five circuits
- Calf, shoulder, and grip stamina from repeated rope work
- Pace control as you decide when to stay steady and when to push harder

### What This Doesn’t Replace

This is a focused conditioning workout, not a complete strength or mobility program. Use it alongside training that includes pushing, pulling, squatting, hinging, and purposeful recovery.
